The Vancouver Public Schools here in Vancouver, WA, Stated that there are 3 methods in which the public can communicate with the Board or superintendent, as mentioned by Board President Sandra Zavala-Oretega, in an email response to me.
“The forms of communication our stakeholders have are at our board meeting during public comments, email communication and community events held by the school district.”
~ Sandra Zavala-Oretega
We as parents are Stateholders, we do not have any say in what goes on when they make decisions, its Teachers, Distract Staff, School Board or the Superintendent.
I did learned the other night that the Superintendent and Board can hold what would be considered a Town Hall. The LaCenter Schools superintendent “Pete Rosenkranz” told me that he hold what he called a State of the District meeting which he goes over things like budget and other things to involved parents and the public and that they had around 100 parents and he allows them to ask questions.
Why as parents are we left out left in the dark when it comes to the kids education, I know why its because teachers have became the trusted adult and parents are no longer to be trusted to answer questions and support there kids.
I will leave you with something new to watch and listen to once again…
